For Yocto Developers

Easily integrate Torizon’s powerful suite into your Yocto images, enabling you to deploy, monitor, troubleshoot and update software quickly, securely, and reliably. Keep using the development flow that works for you, and additionally get access to security features like Secure Boot and filesystem encryption.

Integrated in Your Workflow

Torizon OS is Open Source and built with the Yocto Project. Simply add the Torizon Meta Layer and you are ready to start using all Torizon Cloud features.

Familiar Environment

With Torizon, you don’t need to leave behind your already familiar development environment. Simply add the Torizon Meta Layer to your builds and get access to Torizon’s features.

Secure Your Product

Torizon OS is built with security in mind. Leverage our reference implementations to easily add Secure Boot, encryption, OP-TEE, and more to your products.

Frequent Releases

Our integration feeds are updated everyday. Leverage our nightly releases for immediate access to patches and new features, or our quarterly releases for stable, thoroughly tested software.

With or Without Containers

If you decide to build Torizon OS yourself using Yocto, you are free to choose if you want to keep using containers as the default Torizon experience, or build your application straight from OpenEmbedded.

Experience the Journey

    • Get Torizon-Ready Hardware

Torizon is supported on different hardware platforms. Toradex's System on Modules (SoMs) provide a premium out-of-the-box experience with a fully-tested stack to decrease your development time. Additionally, x86 machines, Raspberry Pi, BeagleBone boards, RISC-V, and more are also supported.

    • Use Pre-Built Images for a Quick Evaluation

Download a pre-built image for your hardware and flash it. Boot the device and provision it to your Torizon Cloud account to instantly deploy Demo Applications and evaluate features like OTA Updates and Remote Access.

    • Build and Integrate the Torizon Reference Images

The Torizon Reference Images are starting points for Yocto developers to start building and integrating Torizon. There’s the option to build the full Torizon OS, with a container engine built-in, or to build the Minimal Image and use the Yocto-generated SDK and your own development workflows to cross-compile Hello World applications. Both are integrated out-of-the-box with the Torizon Cloud.

    • Add Your Own Yocto Layers, Application and Dependencies

As a Yocto developer, integrate other layers containing kernel configuration, libraries, dependencies, files, and everything else needed on your image. Start from the Torizon Reference Images, and work towards your final production image.

    • Setup Provisioning at Scale

Configure the Yocto build to automatically include the correct certificates and keys into production devices, so they are able to auto-provision on the Torizon Cloud at their first boot (or are able to receive Offline Updates), enabling the OTA Updates, Remote Access and Device Monitoring features.

    • Test and Deploy Your Software

Use Torizon to set up convenient CI/CD pipelines to continuously deploy to your fleet on your desk, in your lab, or in the field. The built-in Security and Reliability provides you peace of mind.

    • Monitor Your Fleets and Get Insights

Learn how your devices behave. Detect the issues before they lead to failures. Get data from the field, not just the lab.

    • Troubleshoot, Iterate, Fix Bugs and Improve

React to your customer's updated needs, remotely troubleshoot and fix bugs, and close security vulnerabilities. Do it fast, cost-effectively, and reliably.
