Torizon on Qualcomm Dragonwing and Arduino

Take your Qualcomm Dragonwing and Arduino projects from prototype to volume production with a secure, maintained embedded Linux platform, over-the-air updates and EU CRA compliance built in.

Works with Arduino
Toradex Aquila IQ8 with Torizon is listed in the Works with Arduino program. Build in Arduino App Lab, then scale on an industrial module.

Qualcomm Dragonwing plus Torizon, from Prototype to Volume

Torizon Qualcomm Dragonwing Logos

From Prototype To Production Fast

Keep the tools your team already uses, from Arduino App Lab to VS Code. Torizon adds what production needs: atomic OS updates with automatic rollback, remote access, device monitoring and fleet management.

Long Term Support

Every night, 800 Linux images run on 60 devices in our test farm, with public results. Upstream-first work and long-term support releases keep your Qualcomm product patched for years.

Comply with Latest Security Regulations

Torizon drastically reduces the effort to comply with the EU Cyber Resilience Act: SBOM and VEX with every release, CVE monitoring with expert triage, Uptane-secured updates, secure boot and encryption.

Made for Dragonwing

Use the Qualcomm NPU, GPU and video engines from inside containers. Run Edge Impulse models and local LLMs on the NPU with no cloud round trip, and update them over the air.

One Platform for the Whole Journey

Arduino App Lab takes you from idea to a working board. Torizon takes the same app to a fleet in the field.

Build in App Lab

Develop and test on Arduino UNO Q or VENTUNO Q, with the same App Lab experience.

Publish to Torizon Cloud

One click turns your app into a signed package, ready to deploy.

Deploy to Your Fleet

Update one device or thousands with secure, fail-safe updates for apps, the OS and MCU firmware.

Maintain for Years

Monitor devices, access them remotely and keep them patched for the life of the product.

Two Ways to Start

I'm starting with

From App Lab to a managed fleet

Keep using Arduino App Lab. It finds a board running Torizon OS over USB-C or the network, just like today. When the prototype works, publish it to Torizon Cloud and roll it out to your devices. Then scale to an industrial module such as the Toradex Aquila IQ8 without rewriting your app.

You keep
App Lab, your sketches, Python apps and bricks.
You add
OTA updates, rollback, remote access, CRA tooling.

Production Linux without the distribution work

Coming from Qualcomm Linux, Yocto, Ubuntu or Debian? Torizon OS is open source and built with Yocto, so your BSP work carries over, while we maintain the distribution, kernel and security fixes. Customize the image with TorizonCore Builder instead of a full Yocto build, and develop in VS Code.

You keep
Your Yocto layers or your Debian and Ubuntu know-how.
You add
A maintained LTS OS, Uptane OTA, vulnerability management.

Moving from x86 to Qualcomm?

Torizon was built for this move from the start. Replace x86 PCs running Windows, Ubuntu or Debian with an efficient Dragonwing design and a maintained Linux platform, without rebuilding your team.

Familiar Development Tools

Develop on Windows in VS Code. Templates for .NET, C/C++, Python and Qt let you build and debug on the device as you would on a PC.

Keep Your Application

Containers keep your software portable. Start with Torizon on your current x86 systems and switch to Dragonwing when the new hardware is ready, as NEURA Robotics did.

Experienced Partners

KDAB and ICS bring Windows modernization, Qt and embedded Linux experience to lower the risk of your porting project.
