At CES 2026, Samuel Imgrueth, CEO of Toradex, talked to Cole Ashman, Founder & CEO of Pila Energy, about the Pila Mesh Home Battery, the first home battery system designed to go across the home, and a CES Innovation Award honoree.

Instead of one large battery that requires an electrician and permits, Pila lets homeowners place battery units wherever power matters most, a home office, a refrigerator and synchronize them over a proprietary mesh network. Each unit plugs into a standard 120V outlet and is built on a Toradex System on Module running Torizon OS and Torizon Cloud, giving Pila a custom carrier board design with full support, OTA updates, and an accelerated time to market.
